5/13/2023 0 Comments Doctor Who by Cavan Scott![]() ![]() ![]() All three books were written in quite a short space of time, so the three of us acted like a self-support group, geeing each other on. And then, of course, the story and eventual manuscript went through the usual approval process to make sure that we hadn’t gone off piste!īut yeah, there were emails firing back and forth to make sure we were running along the same lines. We were provided with scripts up to episode 10 of the new series, and spirited away to sunny Cardiff to watch a rough cut of the first episode to get an idea of Pearl’s performance. Was there a lot of discussion between yourself, Mike Tucker, and Jonathan Morris to cross reference how they were writing the character?Ĭavan: I wouldn’t say left to our own devices. ![]() But bar that, you seem to be left to your own devices. When it comes to writing for characters that haven’t appeared on television yet, I’ve heard writers are given script excerpts and some clips to get a feel for the character. Or was Jesus a stubborn curmudgeon demanding the impossible, and Christ his unappreciated Psycho Supporter who made sure some practical good came from his life? The ending implies that even Christ himself isn't sure. Alternative Character Interpretation - invoked Presents two interpretations of Jesus Christ side-by-side as if they coexisted. It tells the story of Jesus as if he were two people, "Jesus" and "Christ", with contrasting personalities Jesus being a moral and godly man, and his brother Christ a calculating figure who wishes to use Jesus' legacy to found a powerful Church. In recent memory, the popes have always stood against war, capital punishment, nuclear weapons, hunger & poverty, euthanasia and abortion. ![]() The traditional moral theology of “just cause” and “just war” with their corresponding “fine balancing” over the so called proportionality between the evil done and good achieved has long been abandoned by a more scripture-base moral theology. We lose our integrity and we have compromised our belief in the sacredness of life. The moment we remain silent over that EVIL that people, liberation movements and governments perpetrate in the name of “collateral damage”, we become contradictions to any pro life advocacy. This language and culture violate the fundamental belief in the sacredness of life in whatever form or shape regardless of culture, belief and ethnicity. Human lives are NOT simple numbers in the equation. “Collateral damage” when used to described human casualties can never be justified. Tragically, people have begun using the label thereby unconsciously or consciously they have become partners in the cover up of these great human tragedies. “Collateral damage” is the euphemistically invented label to “sanitize” the cruelties of war. When the smoke of “battle” fades away, civilians, inevitably, become victims. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Is George really who he seems? After one such procedure sends Nancy’s cousin to the ER, Nancy learns that if a future need arises, they can simply “ask for Jane.” Jane is a codeword for an underground network of courageous women, including some doctors and nurses, who use legit medical knowledge and resources to provide safe abortions. Yet during the Victorian consumerist era 'Highland Mary' was to become increasingly famous, and the romantic tale of the lovers betrothal on the Banks of the Ayr, accompanied by an exchange of Bibles, led to memorabilia produced in her name. For many years the note lay in an unknown location and many believed Cromek had fabricated its existence, and saw Mary Campbell's connection with Burns as a stain on his reputation. In the early 19th century Burns biographer Cromek revealed details of Mary Campbell and a note written by Burns accompanying the song 'Highland Lassie O'. In Search of Highland Mary uncovers the mystery surrounding Mary Campbell, the alleged doomed lover of Robert Burns.Ī tale of mystery and misdirection, intrigue and red herrings, the story of who she was, or whether she even existed, has been a source of controversy ever since 'Highland Mary' allegedly agreed to emigrate with the poet to a new life in the West Indies in 1786 but died in Greenock shortly before their departure. ![]() |
